When did you start DJing – and what and/or who were your early influences?

I started Djing at the age of 13. First party (birthday party), I played all types of music (Kizomba, Semba, Samba, Hip-hop, Reggaeton, etc). After that, I concentrated on Hip-hop and R&B.

I was influenced by my father, he used to always play music at home – whether it was vinyl (Kassav, Madilu, Zaiko Lsnga Langa, Pepe Kale, Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, antilia music, etc.), music video cassettes… I was always surrounded with music back then.

What are your pre-set rituals or what you do to prepare for your set?

Actually I don’t prepare a set when I’m playing at the parties, except sometimes when I make the mixes.

What’s been the best event that you’ve ever played at and why?

Uhmmmm… I’ve never been able to pick a best moment because, every event is a moment for me – a new experience in life – although some aren’t that great at all.

What advice would you give to upcoming DJ’s?

Work hard and be original.

Outside of music, what else do you do to relax, hobbies & interests?

Being with the family back home, buying music, reading a lot of news, taking pictures, playing around with Photoshop, traveling to Angola and internet.
